So the other night we had a little game going and for the first time, folks were not very enthusiastic. Two people went along with it and had an ok time, but the fencesitters on the couch just wouldn't go for it. They thought sitting on the couch clutching their beers was more fun. The experience left me feeling despondent.
Maybe we should try a more natural approach. Instead of asking the hipsters to play, we should start playing amongst ourselves and act like it's a private club - like totally ignore them. Maybe if they think they have to be really cool to play then they'll want to join in.

Re: It's tough to play with those who seem less than thrilled.
Fri, March 3, 2006 - 1:11 PMI had a similar experience flyering for a show in LA. We kept telling people it was a free show and nobody took our flyers. Then I bought some sunglasses for $1 and we told people it was $7 to get in and everyone started taking them.
